EDITORIAL POLICY AND ETHICAL NORMS
PRINCIPLES OF FORMATION AND ACCESS TO THE CONTENT OF
"Collection of scientific works of the Military Institute of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University"
The editorial policy of "Collection of scientific works of the Military Institute of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University" is based on the principles of objectivity and impartiality in the selection of articles for publication; high requirements for the quality of scientific research; mandatory and confidential review of the articles; adherence to collegiality in the selection for publication of the articles; availability and efficiency in communication with the authors; strict observance of copyright and related rights. Preventing illegal publications is the responsibility of each author, editor, reviewer, publisher.
Original manuscripts that have not been published previously, have not been sent to other editors and which are fully meet the requirements for the design and ordering of the articles are accepted to print.
The following sections have been formed in "Collection of scientific works of the Military Institute of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University": relevant issues relating to national security and defence, information security management, military command and control, troops (forces) sustainment, cybersecurity and information security.
The editorial board supports open access policy and principles of free dissemination of scientific information. Copies of collections are in the V.I.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, the M. Maksymovych Scientific Library, in the Library of Military Institute and other libraries of Ukraine. The electronic version is available on the site of the Institute, on the websites of the above-mentioned libraries and on the website of "Collection of scientific works of the Military Institute of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University": https://digest.mil.knu.ua/uk
ETHICS OF PUBLICATIONS
The editorial board of the journal requires that the authors follow the formal and ethical rules of preparation and publication of scientific works, which they submit to the editorial staff of the journal. These norms are determined by the standards of the quality of scientific articles adopted by the world scientific community, in particular the publishing principles of Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK), the recommendations of Elsevier, Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the ethical code of the scientist of Ukraine, as well as the experience of work of foreign and Ukrainian professional communities, scientific organizations, editorial boards and editorial offices.
ETHICAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD OF THE JOURNAL
The editorial board in its activity:
– is guided by the principles of impartiality, the scientific ethics of review, the protection of intellectual property;
– is responsible for the level of scientific content of the journal;
– opposes falsification, plagiarism, sending by the author of one manuscript to several journals, multiple copying of the article in different places, misleading the public about the actual contribution of each author to published scientific work;
– reserves the right to send the manuscript to a third-party reviewer, including a thorough selection through a "blind" review, reject the article or return it for revision;
– may reject the manuscript if they consider that it does not correspond to the journal's profile or does not comply with the ethics and design rules;
– has the right to delete the article that has already been published in case of the violation of any rights or generally accepted norms of scientific ethics. The editorial board informs both the author of the article and the organization where the research was carried out about the fact of removal of the article and reports about it in the next issue.
The editorial staff does not provide other persons with the information about the content of the manuscripts which are under consideration, except persons who participate in its professional assessment.
According to international copyright law on electronic information resources, site materials, materials of the electronic journal or project may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any form (electronic or printed) without the prior written consent of the editorial staff. References to primary sources are necessary when using published materials in the context of other documents.
ETHICAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE AUTHOR
The author:
– is responsible for the novelty and reliability of the results given in the articles, tactical and technical indicators and economic indicators, the correctness of the statements, as well as the fact that the materials do not contain information with restricted access;
– should quote those publications that had a decisive influence on the essence in the article, as well as those that can quickly familiarize the reader with earlier works important for understanding of this study. It should also be indicated the sources of fundamentally important materials used in this work, if they were not received by the author himself;
– ensures the inadmissibility of plagiarism and the submission of previously published materials to the publication. The author of the submitted materials is responsible in case of detection of these facts.
Co-authors of the article should be all persons who have made a significant scientific contribution to the submitted work and share responsibility for the results. The author who submits the manuscript for publication is responsible for ensuring that the list of co-authors includes only those persons who meet the criterion of authorship and assumes the responsibility for the consent of the other authors of the article for its publication in the journal.
